Board on April 22. Following the release of the document, it will be
posted on the HRSB website with an invitation for public comment.
Nova Scotia school boards are required to share information about their
schools, and their education programs and services in a document called
the Long-Range Outlook (Outlook). The purpose of the Outlook is to help
school boards and school communities have more informed discussions
about the future of their schools, and the programs and services they
offer. School boards have until April 30, 2015 to complete this document
and post it on their website for public feedback. For more information,
visit the Halifax Regional School Board website at: http://www.hrsb.ca//about-hrsb/operations-services/long-range-outlook

Closure/ Emergency Dismissal
School Boardís decision to cancel school will usually be made as close
to 6:00 a.m. as possible and it will be communicated on the radio, the
Board's website, the boardís main switchboard and through the school
cancellation number - 464- INFO (4636). If busses are cancelled
and schools are open, parents must use their own discretion with regard
to bringing their children to school. When buses are cancelled in
the morning due to weather conditions, buses are also cancelled in the
afternoon. When schools are open, meaningful learning activities
will be going on in classrooms. Students who are unable to attend
due to inclement weather and/or bus cancellation will not be penalized
because of assignments given or due on that day.
