Closure/ Emergency Dismissal
The
School Board’s decision to cancel school will usually be made as close
to 6:00 a.m. as possible and it will be communicated on the radio, the
Board's website, the board’s main switchboard and through the school
cancellation number - 464- INFO (4636). If busses are cancelled
and schools are open, parents must use their own discretion with regard
to bringing their children to school. When buses are cancelled in
the morning due to weather conditions, buses are also cancelled in the
afternoon. When schools are open, meaningful learning activities
will be going on in classrooms. Students who are unable to attend
due to inclement weather and/or bus cancellation will not be penalized
because of assignments given or due on that day.
Please
advise the office as soon as your emergency contact information changes.
In the event of an early dismissal emergency Phone Trees are put into
effect and students are not permitted to leave until contact with
families (caregiver) is made.
HRH is part of the
Millwood High School Family of Schools.
No
Child Without Program
Our school is involved in
the Canadian MedicAlert Foundation’s No Child Without ® program.
The program offers MedicAlert membership at no cost. Parents who
have a child with a medical condition, an allergy or who is required
to take medication on a regular basis, should consider participating
in the program. For further information, come to the school office
for a No Child Without brochure or visit www.nochildwithout.ca.
If your child is already participating in the program, and there
have been changes in their medical condition or medications, contact
MedicAlert at 1-800-668-1507 to update your child’s file.
